Humanity is an evolving species. It is believed that the homo erectus species was probably the first to use wooden/stone tools and weapons to hunt animals for food somewhere 1 to 1.6 million years ago. Since then, humanity has evolved to the point where we just click a few tabs on a touchscreen device and the food comes to us. Thanks to the age of convenience in which we’re living, it’s not just food that reaches your doorstep. Food delivery and online shopping portals around us have shaped the world so that people do not need to move themselves to get as much as a packet of bread from the grocery store. While technology has made our life easier, there is a flip side to this coin where people’s habits have become accustomed to being lazy.
When almost every consumer good is available at your fingertips, you don’t want to move from the couch. And I do not blame you for this habit change as our lives are already filled with multiple responsibilities so mundane tasks like buying groceries need not take a big chunk of our time. However, we cannot overlook the fact that convenience has made us lazy. Here are some of the ways the technology advancements have made us lazy-
