A PREMIUM EXPERIENCE ON A BUDGET

Infinix has yet again raised the bar by releasing its latest device from the Zero lineup—the Infinix Zero 40.
INFINIX ZERO 40
Following its predecessor's footsteps, the Infinix Zero 30, this new model aims to deliver features typically reserved for high-end smartphones, all within a budget-friendly price point. But does it live up to the expectations? Let's dive deeper to find out.
DESIGN AND BUILD
The Infinix Zero 40 has a sleek, slim profile and a premium design with a unique dual-texture back panel. It features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. The device feels light and comfortable, weighing just 193 grams, and comes with a complimentary silicone case for added protection. The violet garden color variant is eye-catching yet classy, and the prominent camera bump on the back houses all the camera sensors. The display offers sharp and vibrant visuals with 393 pixels per inch (PPI) and is more sensitive to damage if dropped due to its curved nature. While the IP54 rating offers some degree of protection, I would advise to avoid exposing the device to heavy rain or submerging it in water.
PERFORMANCE
The Infinix Zero 40 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate processor, one of the most capable chipsets in the mid-range segment. During my two weeks of use, I found that the phone could handle multiple apps, social media browsing, web surfing, and even some light photo editing without any noticeable lag. Gaming on the Infinix Zero 40 was a pleasant surprise. The BGMI gameplay was mostly smooth, but occasional frame drop rates occurred during extended gaming due to thermal throttling. The slim design seemed to have impacted its thermal management. A brief cooling period brought the device back to its peak performance, but better heat dissipation would have been nice.
