How is the wires and cables industry scaling for renewable energy growth?

The wires and cables industry is rapidly expanding capacity to meet the demands of the renewable energy sector, particularly solar and wind, by increasing capital expenditure, investing in advanced technologies, and expanding product portfolios for high-voltage transmission. Companies are focusing on vertical integration to secure raw materials such as copper and aluminium and to increase control over the supply chain.

Manufacturers are increasing capacity to reduce import dependence and strengthen their position in the domestic market, driven by government initiatives such as the Green Energy Corridor. V Cables is conducting continuous R&D in the field of specialised cables (e.g., solar DC cables, wind power cables, communication cables, etc.) to support the target of 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030, with enhanced remote monitoring and control.
