Vince Gilligan has confirmed that Pluribus will return for a second season, but viewers hoping for a lightning-fast turnaround will need patience.

PLURIBUS SEASON 2 IS MOVING FORWARD-JUST NOT AT A RUSHED PACE

Speaking during Apple TV's inaugural press day at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, the Emmy-winning creator made it clear that the next chapter is already in progress—just not on an accelerated production timeline. For Gilligan, the focus remains on getting the story right, even if that means taking more time between seasons.

The update came during a panel featuring Gilligan alongside series star Rhea Seehorn and cast members Karolina Wydra, Carlos Manuel Vesga, and Samba Schutte. With Schutte moderating, the group fielded questions from the press, including the one fans have been waiting for: where Season 2 stands today.

WHERE SEASON 2 STANDS RIGHT NOW

Gilligan revealed that writing is underway, though still in the early phases. He described the process as steady and deliberate rather than rushed, noting that the series’ complexity requires careful planning. Unlike shows that move directly from one season into rapid production, Pluribus is being built with a long-view approach, where character arcs and thematic layers are mapped out well in advance.
