MILLIONS OF WINDOWS 10 USERS WARNED TO ACT NOW AS MICROSOFT'S DEADLINE LOOMS

Microsoft is issuing new warnings to Windows 10 users as the company prepares to end support for the decade-old operating system, putting millions of computers at risk of security vulnerabilities.

MILLIONS OF WINDOWS 10 USERS WARNED TO ACT NOW AS MICROSOFT'S DEADLINE LOOMS

Users who fail to upgrade or pay for extended protection will soon face the reality of running software that no longer receives critical updates — a scenario experts describe as “a ticking clock for cybersecurity.”

imageMICROSOFT'S FINAL COUNTDOWN FOR WINDOWS 10

The end-of-support phase for Windows 10 marks one of the largest transitions in Microsoft's history. After nearly ten years of dominance across personal and business computing, the operating system is being phased out as Microsoft shifts its focus entirely to Windows 11 and the upcoming Al-powered Windows 12.

When the official support period expires, users will stop receiving security patches, driver updates, and compatibility improvements. Microsoft will offer an Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for organizations and individuals willing to pay annual fees, but even that service is designed to be temporary — a stopgap rather than a solution.

Cybersecurity analysts warn that millions of devices worldwide remain locked on Windows 10, especially older PCs that lack the hardware requirements for Windows 11, including TPM 2.0 security modules and modern CPUs. Those machines will become increasingly vulnerable to malware and ransomware attacks once the patch cycle ends.
