WHEN will George Ford tire of teasing and tormenting opposition defences with matchwinning performances?
Not, it seems, any time soon. Sale’s master craftsman was at it again on Friday night, producing another majestic display to help his team to a huge win.
Both teams scored five tries apiece but Ford’s flawless kicking display — seven goals from seven attempts — proved the difference.
But it went deeper. The England fly-half’s artful handling, intelligent kicking and game-management were crucial as Sale leapfrogged Bristol.
Bears boss Pat Lam admitted: “George is on fire at the moment and he put us under a lot of pressure.
“We wanted to put a bit of pressure on George and get him into some collisions because he drives their game so well.
“But when you watch him play for Sale and England, you can see his ability to turn teams around. It was a masterclass.”
