A PENALTY save from Boreham Wood keeper Nathan Ashmore and three quickfire goals in what Eastbourne Borough boss Adam Murray described as "five minutes of madness" turned this game on its head.

Ashmore's heroics to keep out George Alexander's spot-kick lifted Wood, who ruthlessly dispatched of their promotion rivals with a double from Kwesi Appiah, either side of a Matt Rush effort, all in five blistering second-half minutes.

"We needed that," relieved Wood manager Luke Garrard told The NLP: "The penalty save was crucial as was the start of the second half. It was a real team effort from us today."

Alexander headed over the first real chance of four minutes when well placed as Borough started strongly.
