Lukombo aiming high at Dover

AMBITIOUS Henry Lukombo admits the opportunity to prove himself in National League South with newcomers Dover Athletic was a 'no-brainer'.

The 22-year-old defender has experienced a brief taste of Step 2 football during a previous spell with Billericay Town and now returns to the level eager to demonstrate how much he has progressed both on and off the pitch.

Lukombo joins the Whites from Step 4 Kent rivals Sittingbourne having led the Brickies to shock victories against Jake Leberl's side last season, in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy.

That was enough to persuade Leberl to offer him a deal to join his newly-promoted side and Lukombo, for one, jumped at the opportunity to make the move to the south coast.
