Sissoko is shining for boss Cleverley
TOM Cleverley has hailed evergreen midfielder Moussa Sissoko ahead of today’s derby day showdown at Vicarage Road.
The former Tottenham and Newcastle man – who won 71 caps for France – returned to Watford last summer after two years in France with Nantes.
Questions were naturally raised about his motivation and durability at the age of 35, but Sissoko has answered them all and illustrated his importance to Cleverley’s side by scoring the only goal of the game in a much-needed win at Middlesbrough last weekend.
“Moussa is one of the best professionals I’ve ever worked with,” said the Hornets boss, who played alongside Sissoko in Watford’s midfield in the 2021-22 season.
“He keeps himself in exceptional shape for his age. There’s only a couple of days between us and it makes me feel tired just watching him!
