The Major Championships are done and dusted, the FedExCup winner has been crowned and the autumn schedule on the DP World Tour will temporarily take a back seat as all eyes turn to the biggest and best tournament in golf, the Ryder Cup. It's been a long two years since Europe continued their dominance at home by reigning supreme at Marco Simone in Italy, their seventh successive victory on home soil.

Led fantastically by Luke Donald, Europe prevailed 16.5-11.5, but in truth the contest never seemed close. The same can be said for the 2021 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits, where the Americans ran out comfortable 19-9 victors.
