The list of Algarve's attractions runs long: 300 days of sunshine annually, coasts for miles, a burgeoning wine scene, scores of Michelin-starred restaurants and a vibrant city life combined with rustic fishermen villages and ancient structures, some dating to the neo-classical ages. It is no wonder that Portugal's southernmost city is fast becoming a contender to popular cities like Porto and Lisbon – not just to play, but also to live.

The spread of new luxury hotels and residential projects mirrors this interest. One of them is Ombria Algarve. The ambitious luxury hospitality, community and real estate project is developed by Finnish family office, Pontos. Established in 2001, the company is the largest shareholder of one of Finland's largest construction companies, STV Group Plc.

Within the development, Viceroy at Ombria Algarve features 23 villas, each uniquely programmed to accommodate a mix of branded residences and resort accommodations and in different combinations. This is the first project to be completed under the new Viceroy 2.0 brand after the luxury lifestyle group was acquired by leading hospitality investment and management company Highgate in 2023.

The renewed focus on experiential storytelling for Viceroy 2.0 found the perfect collaborators in WATG (Wimberly, Allison, Tong & Goo) who conceived the architecture and landscaping, and Wimberly Interiors who designed all the internal spaces. They bring 80 years of crafting memorable spatial journeys into this esteemed project in collaboration with local architecture firm Promontorio.
