The Majurity Charity Invitational raises awareness to social causes through golf.
-
The third Majurity Charity Invitational (MCI) continues to combine golf with the urgency of real-world issues.
Reflecting its tagline, "Play Golf, Do Good", the event is more than a tournament. It is also a platform to raise awareness for the unseen needs in Singapore.
This year, over 200 golfers gathered at Tanah Merah Country Club for a two-leg tournament, each leg spotlighting different social causes. Kevin Burke of JB Drax Honoré reflected on what sets MCI apart. "What's really fun are the unique activities you get to experience. Until I got involved two or three years ago, I didn't fully appreciate just how many causes there are in Singapore," he said. "To take part in a golf event like this while also raising funds for fantastic causes is a privilege."
The first leg in May, held at Tanah Merah's Garden Course, centred on the challenges faced by migrant domestic workers (MDWs) in Singapore. It supported Majurity’s Scaffold Fund, which seeks to build a more inclusive and gracious society for our migrant community.Novelty challenges gave golfers a taste of the daily realities faced by our MDWs.
At Multiple Demands, players raced against time to complete tasks, mirroring the intense pressure MDWs face every day.
