Couzens breaks through with Nationals double

Fenix-Deceuninck rider triumphs in the U23 TT and elite road race

Millie Couzens had already had a good British National Road Championships by Thursday afternoon. The 21-year-old, who rides for Fenix-Deceuninck, stormed to victory in the under-23 women's time trial with a time that would have seen her finish fifth in the elite version.

“I'm really happy, I wasn’t expecting it so I'm really proud of myself,” she said that afternoon. “The course was actually very hard because it was so steep, it felt like it was never-ending but I actually really enjoyed it.”
