While there are plenty of more widely known frame-builders than Johnny Berry, there are few who better represent the tradition of the British 'lightweight'.

Berry was a member of the famous Manchester Wheelers, competing from the 1920s until the early 1940s. By this time he had already gone into business with a fellow racer, Bill Bentley, who rode for the Cheshire RC.
