A jaw-dropping undersea snap

A photograph of a Bryde's whale feeding on a heart-shaped "bait ball" of sardines has won the Ocean Photographer of the Year contest.

The competition, run by Oceanographic Magazine, had thousands of entries, with the overall prize going to Spanish underwater photographer Rafael Fernández Caballero. He took the photo while snorkelling off the coast of Baja California Sur in Mexico.
