WHAT ASTROLOGY HAS TAUGHT ME

Shirdi Nath Tekur is a retired aerospace engineer from HAL and an adviser with Tata Consultancy Services. After obtaining Jyothish Visharad from ICAS, he has been teaching astrology at ICAS, Bangalore, and later, Bharatiya Jyothisha Sansthan for over 25 years.

I have been fascinated by science since the time I started to understand the world around me. I grew older strongly believing that there was nothing beyond the ‘see and touch’ world. I also believed that hard work while following systematic approaches was the only path to achieving success. My training as an engineer reinforced these views. My father, an engineer himself, however, had deep faith in astrology and had my horoscope cast by various experts from time to time. I would just tolerate his ‘idiosyncrasy’ of lugging me along to meet astrologer after astrologer. If someone had told me then that I would pursue the practice of astrology so seriously, I would have simply scoffed at the idea.

Astrology has transformed my life and this is an account of the main insights I derived through study, teaching and association with the astrological community.
