G'AIM'E Time Crisis

The decline of CRT displays has been a huge problem for lightgun games, and despite some valiant efforts, scratching that itch without going to an arcade has become quite difficult.

The G'AIM'E gun promises to work on modern displays without any hassle, and while scepticism is understandable, the guns here really do the job – though with a few caveats.

The guns themselves are a nice size and are fairly light, despite the rumble motor that provides optional recoil, and they use cameras that employ AI models which allow them to recognise screens. That's not important to you as a player, though – all you need to do is calibrate each gun by shooting eight targets, three times each, though it does need doing every time you switch the console on. Turning on the optional crosshair, we found that the gun's aim was being tracked in a stable, accurate fashion, and remained so as long as we didn't drastically change position.
