THE Department of Agriculture (DA) has expanded the implementation of the P20 per kg rice program in Baguio City on Sunday.
The agency said in a statement, the launch was made in line with the celebration of the Panagbenga Festival, as the DA conducted a special rollout of the P20 per kg rice program that initially benefitted 500 household beneficiaries from various priority and vulnerable sectors.
At present, the program can be availed by senior citizens, solo parents, persons with disabilities, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program members, indigent households, minimum wage earners, members of transport groups, teachers, and farmers.
“Through a strong partnership between the national government and our local government units, we are bringing services closer to the people and ensuring that no Filipino family is left behind,” Atty. Genevieve Velicaria-Guevarra, DA assistant secretary for agribusiness, marketing and consumer affairs, said.
