Comelec to ban premature campaigning for BSKE

UNLIKE in the May 2025 national and local polls, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to prohibit premature campaigning for the forthcoming November 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
Based on Resolution No. 11196, the Comelec en banc said all candidates and political parties are banned from doing propaganda activities ahead of the campaign period.
“Any unlawful acts or omissions applicable to a candidate shall take effect upon the filing of the Certificate of Candidacy (COC); said the Comelec.
