Walpole's brace helps Oulton end their winless run
August 12, 2025
|Yorkshire Evening Post
Oulton Raiders are off the bottom of National Conference Division One following a 34-26 home victory over fellow strugglers Crosfields.
Raiders looked set for a sixth successive defeat when they trailed by 10 points early in the game, but the Leeds side rallied to lead 28-20 around the hour mark.
Oulton eventually settled the contest when Joe Horan crossed for his second try with 13 minutes left and Archie Craggs’ conversion-his fifth goal of the game-completed the scoring.
Kieron Walpole also bagged a brace for Oulton and Lewis Hagan and Charlie Costello were their other try scorers.
