Students rock at June Jam car park festival

Forget Leeds Fest, Glastonbury or Park Life, the live music festival to be at this summer to see up and coming bands was June Jam at Quarry Hill.

The Festival In A Car Park featured 21 student bands from the Music and Performance Production Department playing rock, pop, metal and indie music, with some singer-songwriters performing too.
DJs performed sets in between the bands to ensure the music flowed for 16 hours over two afternoons for an audience of 200-plus students and staff. Assistant Principal at Quarry Hill Richard Lee came up with the idea of the festival to give students a live experience which mirrors life in the music industry.
