Rhinos star is pipped at the post for league writers honour

A Leeds Rhinos player has been pipped to one of rugby league’s most prestigious awards.

Scrumhalf Jake Connor was a “close runner-up” in voting for the Rugby League Writers and Broadcasters Association player of the year honour, which was won by Leigh Leopards’ halfback Lachlan Lam. Jai Field was third and his Wigan Warriors’ teammate Bevan French tied with Hull KR duo Mikey Lewis and Jez Litten for fourth.
