Nmecha's fully behind Movember challenge

A Leeds United striker has explained the disappearance of his beard and the slower-than-expected cultivation of upper lip hair.

On October 30, Lukas Nmecha shaved off the beard he's been sporting ever since arriving at Elland Road from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg. By the time he took on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, Nmecha had new facial hair, though not quite as much as he expected.

The front man is once again taking part in the Movember challenge, which raises funds and awareness for men's mental health, prostate cancer and testicular cancer charities.

"I have done it before and I think it is just a good cause," he said.

"It is a good time to obviously think about those things. I am going more from like the mental health kind of stance because obviously I have had a lot of injuries in my career and a lot of mental battles, let's say.
