Landmark Leeds York Road pet store to its close doors

Bosses of a much-loved Leeds pet centre chain have announced the closure of its flagship store.

Paws For Thought Pet Centre in York Road has been at the heart of the community for decades but closes its doors for the final time on November 30, marking the end of an era for the brand.

The business began in 1980, founded by Dale Briggs in Halton, before moving to Cross Gates and joining three individual buildings into one shop. The firm later expanded to Plantland on the A64, and ultimately opened its flagship store at 143 York Road.
