Join the spy network for intrigue and thrills at the Berlin Station
September 18, 2025
|Yorkshire Evening Post
More John Le Carré than Ian Flemming, Berlin Station nonetheless has its moments of action interspersed with more thought-provoking espionage.
-

The TV espionage thriller was written by Olen Steinhauer, an American writer of spy fiction novels, including The Tourist. It ran for three seasons on Paramount, but is now being shown in its entirety on ITVX.
The plot revolves around Daniel Miller (Richard Armitage), who is the newbie at the CIA station in Berlin. In season 1, Miller has a clandestine mission: to uncover the source of a leak who has supplied information to a now-famous whistleblower named Thomas Shaw.
Guided by a veteran CIA operative, Hector DeJean (Rhys Ifans), Daniel is given instruction on how to deal with the day-to-day world of the field agent.
Miller is a cerebral CIA officer who shifts from working as an analyst at Langley headquarters in the US to serving as an undercover officer in Berlin and is tasked with finding a leak in CIA operations.
Meanwhile DeJean, is a disillusioned veteran CIA officer with dubious tactics and many secrets.
