Yorkshire Evening Post

A Greggs manager was left needing surgery after a drunken thug attacked him because of a 10-minute wait for a slice of pizza.

- by Nick Frame

Deniss Samsonovs lashed out and broke the man's jaw in the Boar Lane bakery, Leeds Crown Court heard.

Samsonovs, 22, was given a suspended sentence after admitting a charge of Section 20 GBH.

The court heard he was drunk when he went into the shop shortly before 3pm on March 2 last year with two friends.

He approached the counter and asked how long it would take for a pizza. He was told 10 minutes but said he wanted it immediately.
