Gallery loan scheme for lovers of art

Art-lovers are being handed a unique opportunity to hang a work by one of the 20th century's most influential artists over their mantelpiece this Christmas.
Henri Matisse's eye-catching The Dancer (1949) is among the beautiful pieces available to loan as part of Leeds Art Gallery's Picture Library lending scheme, the selection weekend for which runs until November 30.
The playful piece is one of 24 lithographs produced by Matisse in the 1940s with the aim of bringing art to young children and was on display during Leeds City Museum's recent Miffy exhibition.
