E-bike menace avoids jail time after police helicopter pursuit

A teenage E-bike rider who fled police and led them on a lengthy chase has avoided being locked up.

Webster had to be followed by the police helicopter when he fled from ground officers on an E-bike.

Officers spent 20 minutes pursuing Riley Webster and eventually had to call on the assistance of the police helicopter to keep track of him. He dodged traffic, rode on pavements and travelled into oncoming cars before crashing and being apprehended.

The 19-year-old appeared at Leeds Crown Court this week where he admitted dangerous driving, driving without a licence and without insurance.
