Crime-fighters to bid for share of £500k cash pot

Community organisations in Leeds tackling knife crime and gang violence are being urged to bid for cash from a half-million-pound pot of money that has been "recovered from criminals".
Tracy Brabin has announced a £500,000 People's Fund.
The £500,000 People's Fund has been announced by West Yorkshire mayor Tracy Brabin. It will see up to £100,000 made available for each district and allows local groups and organisations across West Yorkshire which tackle serious violenceto bid up to £10,000.
The winning projects will be selected by local residents.
Ms Brabin said the fund is part of her ongoing work to create a serious violence strategy for the region.
