According to Chelsea News, the Blues “plan to make a direct offer” for Liverpool centre-half Ibrahima Konaté in the wake of news that Levi Colwill will miss the majority of the 2025/26 season with a serious knee injury.

Konaté, as the article notes, has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid with one year left to run on his contract at Anfield, and the Spanish giants' interest means that a bid for the Frenchman is “likely to fail”, but it sounds as though Chelsea will have a crack nonetheless with Colwill out of action.
