ED attaches worth Rs 2,385 crore of crypto in OctaFX money laundering case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a provisional attachment order of movable assets in the form of cryptocurrencies worth approximately Rs 2,385 crore in connection with its ongoing money laundering investigation into the unauthorised forex trading platform OctaFX.The Directorate took the action under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

The alleged mastermind behind the scheme, Pavel Prozorov, was recently arrested in Spain by Spanish authorities for his involvement in international cybercrimes affecting multiple countries, the agency said. The ED's probe was initiated following a First Information Report (FIR) filed at Shivaji Nagar Police
