Setting the direction of farming and food production

MY grandad was a farmer. I have uncles and aunts who farm. However, my dad rebelled and became a bank manager, so I never lived on the farm. I went to a lot of agricultural shows when I was young and have always enjoyed taking my own son to the Royal Cornwall Show, so it was a real privilege to go there last week as a Member of Parliament.

It’s one of the last remaining true agricultural shows in the country and I got the chance to talk to farmers as well as representatives of the National Farmers’ Union, the Country Land and Business Association and many others.
