Pitchfork threats in psychotic episode

A MAN threatened a complete stranger with a pitchfork and a piece of slate during a frightening alcohol and cocaine fuelled psychotic episode in Cornwall, a court heard.

During a sentencing hearing at Truro Crown Court on Wednesday, July 30, it was heard how Travis Button went to a cottage in Liskeard and banged on the door asking to be let in and demanding cash. When the resident refused, Button threatened to slash her and used a piece of slate to damage her property.

The court heard that during the incident on April 3 last year, Button, 25, shouted at the lone woman that "I'm coming back to get you. I know where you live".

Then, around 15 minutes later, Button did it again at a house a few doors down. This time he was armed with a pitchfork.
