Injury-hit Gulls stretched for busy weekend

TORQUAY United travel to Horsham today for the first game of two over the bank holiday weekend with a depleted squad after a run of injuries that has hit Paul Wotton’s squad.
The Torquay manager was trying to add some new players in the run up to the weekend, but as they left for West Sussex yesterday there was no announcement forthcoming, so the squad may be seriously squeezed for these two games.
But Wotton wasn’t unduly worried about that. “We are trying very hard,” he said at his Thursday press conference. “We are close on one and hopefully we will get another one as well - but if that doesn’t materialise, we'll suck it up and get on with it. It is what it is. Last year we got very fortunate with injuries, this year we have had a bit of misfortune.
“We have also had a disgraceful tackle - a tackle from behind that has endangered my player and it’s proven that he is going to be out for three months. So congratulations to that player who committed that tackle.”
