Global bidders drive record results at antiques auction

A WAVE of international bidding helped drive record breaking results at last week's antiques auction at Plymouth Auction Rooms, with collectors from the US, China and beyond securing standout pieces across multiple categories.

Among the highlights was a fine collection of Chinese Export silver wares from a South Devon family, which achieved just over £10,000. A rare group of Straits Chinese Nonya porcelain followed suit, far exceeding expectations and selling for £8,200 to buyers from China and Singapore.
