Falmouth-Helston the highlight in FA Cup draw

THE draw for the extra preliminary round of this season's FA Cup has thrown up a Cornish cracker of a derby with Falmouth Town being drawn at home to Helston Athletic, writes Stuart James.

The match will be played at Fal-mouth's Bickland Park on Saturday, August 2 with a 3pm kickoff, whilst there is also a south East Cornwall derby at Kimberley Stadium after Saltash United were drawn at home to Torpoint Athletic.

Stuart Henderson's Tavistock are at home to South West Peninsula League side AFC St Austell, while Ivybridge Town visit SWPL opposition in the form of Sidmouth Town.

The extra-preliminary round draw - which sees 446 clubs participating - was followed by the preliminary round, scheduled for two weeks later.

Extra preliminary round winners will receive £1,125 with the losers pocketing £375. Preliminary round winners will get £1,444 with the losers collecting £481.

FA Cup Extra Preliminary round draw (local clubs only): Falmouth Town v Helston Athietic, Tavistock v AFC St Austell, Saltash United v Torpoint Athletic, Street v Brixham, St Blazey v Buckland Athletic, Bideford v Wellington AFC, Willand Rovers v Barnstaple Town, Mousehole v Bridgwater United, Sidmouth Town v Ivybridge Town, Newquay v Shepton Mallet. (Ties to be played on Saturday. August 2.)
