Delighted to take on classic role for good cause

WELL, I've been invited to some interesting 'dos' in my time. There have been the usual country fairs and fêtes, hospital and residential homes, but in the last few years, just as I was considering a quieter, simpler life, she's dragged me out to all manner of events.

I haven't said anything because I suspect she fears not being recognised any more without me and so, in the spirit of the generosity I'm famed for, I have accompanied her.

Not that I'm complaining especially when I've had the honour to have been asked to attend the funerals of the two gentlemen who first found me on Dartmoor, David Sunderland and Tony Smith.
