Cleverley delighted to have 'priceless' Edwards back

CLUB captain Joe Edwards will return to the Plymouth Argyle squad for the League One game against Blackpool at Home Park this afternoon (KO 3pm) after recovering from a hamstring issue.

- CHRIS ERRINGTON

However, head coach Tom Cleverley has confirmed that Julio Pleguezuelo will probably not play before Christmas because of a knee injury. The Spanish defender missed much of preseason and then after briefly returning to action in the final warm up game against Bristol City at the end of July he had to have an operation.

New Argyle loan signing Alex Mitchell was substituted towards the end of the 1-0 home defeat by Leyton Orient on Tuesday after feeling hamstring tightness but he will be fine to play against Blackpool, who have won one of their opening four league fixtures and lost the other three.

Cleverley said: "(Brendan) Galloway and Mitchell had muscle cramps so they are fine. Joe Edwards will be back in the squad, which is great news for us all. We have got that little group of players returning towards the end of the month, which will be (Jamie) Paterson, (Freddie) Issaka, (Conor) Hazard and (Jack) Mackenzie."
