Two shops shut down for selling illegal tobacco

Two shops in Cardiff have been forced to close after a series of test purchases revealed they had been selling illegal tobacco and vapes.
The tests, carried out by the council and South Wales Police, have led to the closures of Vape Zone in Adamsdown and Mini Mart Store in Llanrumney.
Vape Zone on Clifton Street and the Mini Mart Store on Countisbury Avenue will be closed for three months following court orders imposed by Cardiff Magistrates' Court.
The court heard that both shops were persistently selling illegal tobacco and vapes to customers despite having both received advice and formal warnings.
But the retailers carried on selling counterfeit tobacco and illegal vapes leading to enforcement action being taken.
