Retention is key for Cardiff City in January - BBM

BRIAN Barry-Murphy insists his focus remains on keeping Cardiff City’s best players in January and will only add players if they “significantly improve the squad” in the new year.

Cardiff didn't do much business in terms of incomings last summer, bringing in only Gabriel Osho, Omari Kellyman and Nathan Trott, while swathes of players left through the exit door.

Barry-Murphy said all summer long he wanted three or four players and got his wish, however he refuses to make that mistake again this time.

“Yeah, not doing any numbers in January! That was a mistake on my part in August,” he said when asked how many players he wanted in next month.

“I think you're always then being held to that.
