Murder trial court hears of father's last moments

Kamran Aman died aged 38

(Family Handout)

When she saw that one of the boys had produced a knife, she told the victim: "He's got a knife, run."

Kamran Aman, 38, suffered a fatal stab wound to the left side of his chest shortly after midnight on June 30, after an altercation involving two boys, aged 16 and 17, in Barry.

A trial at Cardiff Crown Court was played footage of the incident, in which one of the boys could be heard shouting "n*****" after the victim had already suffered the fatal injury.

The defendants, of Llantwit Major, have both pleaded guilty to manslaughter but deny murder.

They cannot be named as they are both under 18 years old and a court order has been made preventing them from being identified.

Yesterday, a woman who spent time with the two defendants at an address in Barry Road prior to the altercation with Mr Aman, gave evidence.

We have chosen not to identify her in order to protect the anonymity of the two defendants.

Describing the moment the 16-year-old defendant saw Mr Aman, the witness said: "He seen Kamran sitting in his car. It was outside the window. [The 16-year-old] was shouting through the window."
