More than 70 arrests at protests supporting banned Palestine Action

MORE than 70 people were arrested at protests against Palestine Action being designated a proscribed terror group.

Protesters gathered for the second week in a row in central London on Saturday after police reiterated that showing support for the group was a criminal offence.
A further 13 arrests were made at the parallel Cardiff protest, held outside the BBC Wales offices in Central Square, and 16 in Manchester.
Protesters lay on the ground with placards which read 'I oppose genocide' and 'I support Palestine Action'.
In London, two groups of protesters gathered underneath both the Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela statues in Parliament Square for the demonstration shortly after 1pm.
Some demonstrators could be seen lying on top of each other as police searched their bags and took their ID cards and handmade signs.
