Matos wants 'hunger' as Swans head to West Brom

VITOR Matos has challenged his Swansea City players to show their hunger for the challenge ahead.

The Swans head to West Bromwich Albion today just two points clear of the relegation zone, with Matos beginning his reign with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Derby County on Tuesday night.

The Portuguese coach (pictured) insists he his happy with the quality of his squad, but says his players need to show they are determined to drag themselves away from trouble.

Matos once again emphasised the importance of the counter-press, which he believes could well be central to the team's potential success.

"It's quite clear that we need hunger and they need desire and that's the starting point for the players as well," he said.
