Ironman athlete dies after race

AN ATHLETE has tragically died after competing in Swansea Ironman 70.3.
-
The event, which took place on Sunday, saw the athlete “in difficulty” during the swim section of the race.
They were taken to hospital, but tragically died on Wednesday, event organisers have confirmed.
A statement read: “It is with a heavy heart that we confirm the passing of an athlete who competed in last weekend’s Ironman 70.3 Swansea triathlon.
