FERRY DELIVER SAINTS SURPRISE

BRITON Ferry Llansawel produced the first major shock of the JD Cymru Premier season as they inflicted a 3-0 home defeat on The New Saints.

The Neath side shocked the perennial champions with an outstanding display as they moved top of the early-season table.
Craig Harrison's TNS went into the game as hot favourites, even on the back of an early exit from European competition. But Ferry produced one of the best results in their recent history to come out on top.
Ruben Davies gave Ferry the lead in the 37th minute, and they doubled their advantage shortly before the hour mark through Tom Walters.
And Davies struck again in the 75th minute to round off the scoring.
As first touches go, Darren Thomas’ instinctive strike after coming on in the 91st minute couldn’t have been any better as he snatched an equaliser to make it 2-2 in Cyncoed and earn Caernarfon Town a point at Cardiff Met on the opening day weekend of the JD Cymru Premier season.
