A 22-YEAR-OLD who was disqualified from driving fell asleep at the wheel twice, drove at 80mph in a 20mph zone and proceeded to crash into two cars, causing one of them to fly across a road, a court heard.

Aaron Davies, from Gorseinon, then fled the scene.

Swansea Crown Court heard that on February 15 at around 10pm Donna James noticed a car which appeared to be “driving out of control” at 80mph in a 20mph zone in the Loughor area of Swansea.

Resident Catherine Owen then heard “a loud bang” outside her address and went out to discover a blue BMW had crashed into her white Toyota Yaris.

The damage was described as being “extensive” and her car was “beyond repair”. The court heard the Yaris was “sent to the other side of the street due to the collision”.

Ms Owen’s garden wall was also damaged, and a silver Renault owned by Laura Lewis was also written off.

The court heard Nathan Davies, another nearby resident, left his address and saw the driver leave the vehicle but both he and the passenger walked away from the scene. A month later Mr Davies was then able to identify the driver through a Facebook post.
