Decision on wind farm put on hold

PLANNERS at the Welsh Government have paused the consultation on a controversial energy project near Llandrindod Wells.

The proposal by Bute energy involved the installation of 30 wind turbines, each reaching up to 220m in height.
A Powys County Council planning meeting due to examine a Local Impact Report (LIR) on Bute Energy's Nant Mithil Energy Park proposal at Radnor Forest was called off last week.
The application is being handled by Welsh Government planning inspectors at Planning and Environment Decisions Wales (PEDW) because it qualifies as a Development of National Significance (DNS).
This means Powys council provides advice but will not make the final decision.
