Anger after town's tree damaged

CHRISTMAS was partially ruined in one town centre after somebody climbed to the top of the town's Christmas tree and tried to take the star, badly damaging it in the process.

A video captured in Pontypridd and shared on social media shows someone scaling the huge tree before appearing to dismantle the star from its summit.
The local town council confirmed that due to the damage caused to the top of tree, it will not be possible to return the star this year.
