Amazon to close depot as it relocates to capital

AMAZON has confirmed it will be closing its depot in Newport and relocating all staff.
The online retail giant will be shutting its delivery station in the city and moving to a new location in Cardiff later this year.
Amazon opened the site based in Newport's Celtic Business Park in November 2016. It has now told Newport staff it will be relocating to the Welsh capital, with workers expected to be at the new site in Cardiff Bay from October 2025.
Amazon has assured all employees their jobs are safe as long as they agree and are able to travel to the new warehouse. It will be located in Cardiff's ABP Business Park on Cargo Road, around 35 miles away.
