HOCKEY WITH three of its teams securing top four finishes, including a league title for the ladies' third team, this season has been one of consistent achievement for Yeovil & Sherborne Hockey Club.

Reflecting on a successful campaign

Each squad's dedication to the sport has set the stage for future success, and the club now looks ahead to building on these performances during the upcoming season which starts again in September.

The ladies' first team demonstrated their strength this season as they clinched an impressive third-place in the highly-contested West Women's Division Two Central. Over 18 matches, the team secured 11 wins, two draws and only five losses. Their attacking prowess was evident, with 47 goals scored, while their robust defensive set-up conceded just 27.

With a goal difference of plus 20, the ladies proved themselves to be a formidable presence in the league.

Similarly, the second side capped off a strong season and also finished third in West Women's Wessex Division One. Winning 12 of their 18 matches and boasting a staggering goal difference of plus 31, their performance underlines a mix of offensive brilliance and defensive reliability. With 53 goals scored and just 22 conceded, the team continues to show that they are a competitive force in the league.
